If you’re looking for surfing we recommend you to find one of the many excellent beaches with perfect surfing conditions on the north of the island of Gran Canaria. On this northern region you might see waves reaching 5 meters of height. The most famous surfing beaches are the Las Canteras Beach, Melenara Beach, San Agustin (ideal for beginners) and El Inglés Beach (also for beginners). If you forgot to bring your own gear, don’t worry as you might find many shops and sports centers near the main touristic sites.

Windsurfers might also find great conditions for the practice of this sport in Gran Canaria, although the best regions to practice it are on the East and South regions of this island. This island is gifted with wind throughout the year, and this is also why it has been chosen as the headquarters for the International Windsurf Competition over the last few years. As well as regarding surf gear, you might find many rental shops everywhere on the island and the best spots to practice windsurf are in the municipality of Telde, Vecindario, La isleta, Moya and many more.
