Arrecife is the capital of Lanzarote, located on the East side of the island, it’s the smallest yet most crowded municipality in Lanzarote.

Arrecife has a wide entertainment and sport facilities offer, most located in the sport city near the El Reducto Beach, where you might practice a wide amount of sports as volleyball, canary islands’ wrestle, swimming, canoeing, fishing and others.

Regarding its most relevant spots, in the municipality of Arrecife, you ought to visit the San José Castle International Museum of Modern Art, an interesting modern art museum housed in the majestic castle of the XVIII century. The San Ginés church, founded in 1574, the San Gabriel Castle, and the Puente de Bolas.

To enjoy a quiet walk or a shopping spree the city holds two parks near the main avenue, and also, in the León and Castillo pedestrian street you’ll find a lively commercial area with banks, shops and many others.

The nightlife in Arrecife usually happens around the José Antonio street, which has from quiet cafes, to lively pubs.

The main festivities are the San Ginés, on the 25th August.
