El Llano Cave is a lava tube with 648 meters located in Villaverde in the municipality of La Oliva, on the island of Fuerteventura.
On this lava tube you might observe the introduction of diverse animal species throughout the History.
The access to this great cove is done through a channel that divides it into two channels, one on the north (wider) and another one on the south. The north channel has 500 meters wide and it has difficult access.
A visit to the cave will offer you the chance to get into the deepness of the earth, yet also, meet the animals that lived on this island thousands of years ago, as well as understand the formation process of this lava tube through an interesting guided trip.
The cove also has many interesting fossil remains that correspond to the already extinct species such as the malpais lava rat or the canary quail. Moreover, this location has an exclusive invertebrate (similar to a spider) that only lives inside this Cave.
