Pájara is a municipality located on the south of Fuerteventura. Here you’ll find all the different habitats that exist on this island, as it has everything from saladares to dune fields, and from ravines and troughs.
We should highlight that nearly 60% of this municipality’s surface is protected.
This peninsula-municipality is separated from the rest of the island by the La Pared isthmus. This municipality has nearly 70 kilometers of fine litoral that lead to beautiful beaches as de El Sotavento Beach or the famous El Cofete Beach.
In this place you’ll find excellent touristic centres such as Costa Calma, the Matorral, the Esquinzo-Butihondo, which are known for their excellent beaches with crystal clear waters and golden sand, the ideal location for diving lovers, windsurf or hiking.
Pájara has two important fishing towns, Ajuy on the north and Morro Jable.
