The Traditional Fishing Museum is located inside the El Tostón Lighthouse, only 5 kilometers from El Cotillo, in the Northeast of the Fuerteventura island.

This museum’s inside the 1897 castle. This is a cultural space dedicate to promote the fishing art as this is considered a costume and a tradition for this island inhabitants.

The castle where this museum’s located has a lighthouse architecture. The edification is from the same period as the Pechiguera in Lanzarote or the El Marrajo on the islet of Lobos, as a tribute to the Estrecho de La Bocaina.

The museum exhibits information on the vinculation of the sailors to the sea from the prehistoric period to the most recent years.

While visiting the museum it’s possible to climb one of the lighthouse’s towers from where you might take an impressive look over the beautiful landscape of white sandy beaches and sea.
