The chain of La Orotava Water Mills, declared Cultural Interest Good is placed in La Orotava, on the north of Tenerife.
This chain was originally constituted by 13 mills, from which only 10 still remain.
The mills were used to produce the main aliment for many centuries, here in the Canary Islands, the Roasted Maize.
This monumental mills date back to the XVI century, which used to power of the water to grind the toasted grain. Nowadays the mills and over an imaginary water channels, over which the ancient laundries and troughs were also located. Nowadays, all these pieces have high ethnographic value.
