The Pinolere History Museum is located in two earthly houses in the Pinolere Integral Natural Park, which lead to the Pinolere Ethnographic Museum and the Canary Basketry Museum in the municipality of La Orotava, Tenerife.
This interesting museum complex occupies a surface of more than 3.000 square meters, with much space to recreate the diverse aspects of the architectonic, agriculture, environmental and socio-cultural landscape of the La Orotava inhabitants.
In the Ethnographic Museum you’ll have the opportunity to discover the history of this insolit agriculture land, its surrounding, economic resources, festivities, traditions, traditional habitat and the archaeological complex of the Cueva de los Guanches.
The Canary Basketry Museum occupies three haystacks and its content comes from the own borough of La Orotava, as this municipality is historically considered one of the most important brown cracked wood basketry centres in the Canary Islands. Here you might see a large quantity of didactical information about spaces and traditional costumes of this vegetable fibers. Moreover, it also holds an ample showroom of the materials and tools used as well as the production processes, commercialization, typology and uses.
