The San Bartolomé Hermitage in the municipality of Santa Úrsula it’s located nearby the old road also known as Camino de los Guanches, on the North of Tenerife.
It was founded by the chaplain Juan García Calzadilla and his nephew Mateo Padrón Calzadilla, in 1705. They were in charge of founding, building as well as organizing, from 1713, the annual celebrations of San Bartolomé and San Salvador.
This church was transformed into Parish in 1966 by the bishop Franco Cascón.
The building follows the architecture of the other simple religious constructions as it only has a rectangular shape with stone and clay walls covered by arabic tiles. It has a main central facade, a roof, two waters and one tower on the right side. In its interior it has several images of San Lázaro, San Bartolomé, a small yet important crucifix and a inmaculada.
