The San Pedro Apóstol Church is the main heritage element in El Sauzal municipality and one of the most emblematic buildings on the north of Tenerife.
Its cruciform layout and formal development of the original design make this an invaluable representation of this period religious art.
From the main facade we should highlight the design of the stoned tower while, from the inside stand out the valuable altarpieces and XVII and XVIII century paintings that hang on the walls.
The construction remains from the beginning of the XVI century even though the main piece is from the XVIII and XIX century.
The San Pedro Apóstol Church has only one floor with a latin cross layout and a tiled roof.
The main facade has only one wooden door with geometric ornaments and three stone stairs used to access the church. On the left hand side there’s a small window that completes the facade next to the black stoned tower and the belfry.
The tower is divided into four sections separated by cornices with square windows apart from the last one which has joined arches. On the top you might see a wooden dome with octagonal shape. Inside the tower there’s stairs to access the belfry.
