Realejo Alto is the highest nuclei in the municipality of Los Realejos, which is located on the north of Tenerife.

Realejo Alto was a witness of the later history regarding the conquest of the island of Tenerife in 1496. Here you might find the Santiago Apostle parrish, which is surrounded by many houses with one or two floors. This municipality has several historic houses as the Parrish house, with plain facade on the 3rd of may street.

On the street El Medio you’ll find a beautiful contrast between houses with traditional architecture, with forged balconies and nowadays architecture.

Without any doubt the most emblematic building in Realejo Alto is the birthplace house of Viera and Clavijo, on the other side of the Godínez Ravine, on the street with same name from which you might only see the remaining facade as the interior was renovated.
