The Montaña Roja Special Natural Reserve is located near the touristic town of El Médano, in a municipality known as Granadilla de Abona, on the south of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
The Montaña Roja Special Natural Reserve has a surface of more than 166 hectares and it was formed due to a strong sea erosion of its volcanic cone.
This place has an unique landscape near the amazing beaches of El Médano and La Tejita; and it has a numerous amount of seabirds, some in danger of extinction, which makes this site a special natural interesting location.
