The Iglesia de San Antonio de Padua Church is located in Granadilla de Abona, on the south of Tenerife.
The San Antonio de Padua Parish was built in 1617 and demolished to build a new church.
Unfortunately the church was destroyed on a fire, but in 1711 its foundations were used to build the actual San Antonio de Padua Church.
This is a nice building with a tower from 1886. If you take a closer look at the church spire, you might see a baroque influence in the canary architecture.
The San Antonio de Padua Church has one ample nave, cross shaped, a typical indoor from the canary churches and it also has many altarpieces, carvings and picture. On the roof you might distinguish a clear moorish tradition. The facade is the oldest part of this building and also the most simple.
Regarding its worship objects, we should highlight the golden diadem Oro de San Antonio, a silver lamp from 1617, a procedural cross from 1691, a silver portavoz from 1702, a silver shell used as baptistery from 1710 and six wide chandeliers from 1713.
