The Cuatro Puertas archaeological site is located in Montaña Bermeja only 3 kilometers away from the Telde city centre on the island of Gran Canaria.

The Cuatro Puertas is a hand-excavated cove of an old volcanic cone with 300 meters high.

Here you might find one of the most amazing deposits in Gran Canaria, already considered Historic-Artistic Monument since 1972. It was named Cuatro Puertas, Four Doors, due to its most important characteristic, the four main entrances that lead to a wide room. You might also see some enigmatic signs carved on the walls that, still nowadays, represent a mystery to all the experts, even though it’s believed this was used as a temple for religious acts.

On the top you’ll find an “almogarén”, a worship area to the nature gods. This complex has many other coves as the Los Papeles and the Las Columnas.

How to get here:

To get to the La Montaña Cuatro Puertas from Telde you might get the GC-1 highway and exit on “El Goro”.
