The Los Tiles de Moya Special Natural Reserve is located in the municipalities of Moya and Santa María de Guía in Gran Canaria.
This natural reserve has an extension of over 91 hectares, which 90 belong to Moya and 1 belongs to Santa María de Guía.
This is one of the best laurel redoubts in Gran Canaria.
During the XIX and XX centuries this region was seriously threatened by its timber value, but finally it was saved by famous writers and poets as, for example, Miguel de Unamuno.
Due to their efforts, even today we’re able to enjoy this laurel collection as well as some centenarian trees, some of them unique on this island as the White Salvia and the “Cresta de Gallo”.
The los Tiles de Moya is included in the Doramas Rural Park.
